Updates (Emil and Emmanuel Brigade)

The mission is rolling! God is using generous people in letting this mission happen. Currently, the tiny hut is under construction and supplies are pouring in. I can't believe that it's going to be finished before we go to the States.

Although there were some hurdles along the way but God's plan always succeeds. He doesn't let anybody interfere. So far, the house is going to be finished on Wednesday thus it is also the moving day for the father and son. Next would be their health check up, prolly on Thursday. We are thinking that there might be a chance for Emil to at least glimpse a little bit of a sight. He can distinguish brightness and darkness so it is possible.

Moreover, he gets a job at the place where they will be living! He gets to take care of a farm and still be with his son 24/7. The bond of the two is priceless. He doesn't allow people to take pity on him when it comes to caring for his son. He knows what he's doing.

Note: These goodies in the picture are just recently bought. I have already bought some last Saturday. I don't have a vehicle to carry one big luggage and transport it back and forth. After all, I am just wittle (little). :)

Emmanuel means God's with us

The word Emmanuel always reminds me of Christmas and of course Jesus, a great friend and savior. This time I met another Emmanuel in the person of a sweet little boy. He is a year and 4 months old. They live on a waiting shed(sort of like a bus stop shed). The father is a hard working guy. Emil doesn't allow his physical limitations to hinder in providing for his son. My husband and I witnessed how he takes care of him. Their small bag is packed with foods for his son and a bottle of milk. He sees to it that he gets odd jobs to support  him properly. Emil is a bit skinny because every time he gets a chance to buy food he buys it for his son. These father and son need a shelter. They need to have at least a decent place to sleep and rest.

Me and my husband have invited them to our house last Wednesday.I gave the baby a bathe so that I could apply an antiseptic to his wounds. We also fed them and gave them warm blankets. Emmanuel is very playful. I had a great time playing with him. He loves bananas! Emil is always smiling, you can't trace any bitterness when he speaks. We found out that his wife left him and his son last year. Since then he made it to a point to always care for the little boy whatever he does and wherever he goes. He doesn't beg for money. He asks for odd jobs. He told us that his body is strong and able so why not get a job. We were touched by that statement. Unfortunately his efforts are not enough. There is a little boy involved. My heart breaks for the kid so I told myself that something needs to be done here. They need help.

A very nice old woman who has a small store who is also their friend has offered a tiny lot for them to build a hut. The lady told me that she's willing to donate it to them. She asked me to help her make that hut happen. Have it built for the father and son. We talked it over and she said we will be needing at least $250.

My mission now is to feed them, educate the child and attend to his health condition as well.We will be needing help in earning that $250 because my income and my husband's will not be enough considering we also have other bills and concerns to attend to. If ever you read this post and if you feel like God is talking to you, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will make sure that every donation will be spent accordingly. I will produce receipts and records or even pictures during the construction of their tiny house.


A little amount will make a big change to these lives.

The yellow brick road

 Apparently someone is very giddy already for her trip next month. As Dorothy followed the yellow brick road, I myself am going to follow my own itineraries for this trip. The mission is to stop and explore at every possibly exciting and fun filled place in Kansas! Fortunately I will be flying by plane and not in a house sucked by a tornado. Isn't that a relief?

I didn’t forget to purchase my own red shoes if that’s what you were looking for. Hubby and I got them last weekend although I didn't choose the sparkling ones as to not show much of the obvious. I just hope that I will not meet the witch and the wizard. Nah, I don’t need them. No thanks, I can manage. Ha ha!

I wonder what Dorothy and Toto are up to when I get there. In the mean time try not to let a house fall on you all, okay? Ha ha!

Sweet turns 12!

Where did the days and years go? My beloved god-daughter turned 12 last Sunday and we were given the opportunity to celebrate it with her and her younger sister Je-ann. We just had a simple lunch with its highlight having the crew of pizza hut singing happy birthday while dancing and afterwards giving her a complementary ice cream. She was the happiest little girl along with her younger sister.

And then it was attacked! LOL!

She was worried here that she's eaten too much already. Thought she couldn't finish it but too bad, little sister is a reinforcement. Watch where the ice cream go. lol!

Ta-duh! Ha ha ha! Need I say more?

After eating we headed to two bookstores. I have been influencing these kids to read good books to stimulate their writing and comprehension skills. Literacy is a must although these kids are already brilliant on their own. God has blessed them multiple musical talents. I pray that they grow more to be humble and God fearing. My goddaughter told me that she aced her English test. I am the proudest godmother. Beat that! He he! :)

Places I must see!

Mother in-law asked if I made a list of the places I want to see the moment I get there. I came up with a pretty fast answer.

The three places that made it to the top are:

1. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

What's so special about this museum is that they have a vast collection of Egyptian relics and I am one of those avid individuals who like digging about the history of the kingdom of this country. I am specifically interested about King Tut. I remembered once that I had to choose between a book called Egyptology or a bible. If you know me, the latter was my choice although I dwelt on the "what if" for a while. I know, bad me. Anyhow, I AM GOING to this museum by hook or by crook! Ha ha!

Also, I can't wait to stand beside these humongous birds!

2. Kansas City Public Library

   Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean to go on a vacation and just be a nerd there although it's not a bad idea to check on some good books too (geeks will always be geeks). He he. The truth is I want to see this place because of its state of the art facade! It's amazing how they came up with the concept. It's really cool! 

What can you say to these, hmm?!

3.  Ghost towns of Kansas

    I know it's weird but I can't explain the thrill of walking on grounds that were once a haven to other people yet they chose to abandon after they've accomplished something there. Also, places like they need to leave because life cannot be sustained in there anymore. I say they should learn from us Filipinos, there is no saying no as long as there's a place to build a shanty on. Ha ha ha!  

  Kansas has a website for all their ghost towns and the list is pretty long, oh yeah! This means it could cover most of our stay there if the winter season permits us. Although these are my top three spots to visit mom also suggested to check this place. It's super packed with arts and crafts stuff! I told her I might not make it out alive once I get in there. He he he. Ooh, my mother in-law and grandma are also in yard sale hunting. It's one thing in common we have aside from being the little women in the McGuffins. Ha ha!  Can't wait to hang out with them soon! 

  

That's all folks! I still have a month to keep on dreaming about these places and then I'm good to conquer them. A big, Yay!

The siblings!

I have two adorable students who never get tired of wishing me all the best stuff in life. They are a good tandem when it comes to teasing and in making me laugh my heart out. I reckon that I don't give them much credit for all they've done so here's a post hoping it'll make them giddy. Ha ha ha!

When God says, YES!

There is nothing you can do but be overwhelmed. I got my share of His immense manifestation on the day I had my interview at the US embassy for a tourist visa. He didn't only pave the way but also showed me how He can control everything.

When God says yes, everything else follows. My passport was delivered three days after the interview even though I was told to wait for it for a week. We actually missed the delivery and had to pick it ourselves. I was getting cold feet in checking out the stamped visa. I was thinking maybe they just granted me a three-month visa instead of the six-month we applied for. My eyes couldn't believe what I saw. The expiration date of the visa is in 2022 and granted with multiple entries! Once again we praised God for it! We didn't even expect that much. He's just amazing! As ever!

We ended the day at pizza hut and celebrated it with big smiles on our face.

God is great and He is worthy to be praised!
